  Home Buying Process
When you're buying a home for the first time or you're an experienced buyer, it's important to be familiar with each step of the selling process. Here's what you can expect if you work with a RE/MAX of Midland Realtor.

1. You'll be formally introduced   to RE/MAX of Midland and your professional Realtor. At this time, you'll receive a copy of a State of Michigan-required "Agency Disclosure Statement" to sign.

2. We'll discuss your financing options and then help you pre-qualify for financing your new property.

3. What will you be looking for in a home? We'll discuss considerations such as size, price range, neighborhood, school systems, proximity to shopping, and special home features. Having a prepared list will focus our search on your needs.

4. Your RE/MAX of Midland agent will review the Multiple Listing Service magazine and make a list of the homes that fit your specifications. Then your Realtor will make arrangements to escort you through the properties.

5. After investigating every property that meets your needs, you'll narrow your list of prospects and finally select a home to purchase.

6. At this time, you'll review and complete a purchase agreement which includes the price you're willing to pay for the property and any conditions you wish to place on the transaction. An "earnest money" deposit is required at this time.

7. Upon formal presentation of the offer, the seller has the option to accept, reject or make a counter offer.

8. When the parties have agreed upon a purchase price and terms, the final purchase agreement will be drafted and signed. This contract becomes the blueprint for the remainder of the sale and must be carried out exactly as stated. Some aspects of the agreement may include surveys, inspections and financing.

9. When financing has been approved and all conditions of the purchase agreement are met, there will be a formal closing, which is when you will sign the mortgage agreement.

10. Congratulations! You're a new home owner. RE/MAX of Midland was proud to participate in the process.
